Snow keeps on falling in Morzine and Avoriaz
After unseasonally warm and summery conditions late last week, a new cold front has brought masses of the white fluffy stuff we all love to see during the winter months.
The temperatures dropped sharply at the beginning of the week with the arrival of a new cold front. Clear blue skies gave way to moody grey clouds over Tuesday night and by Wednesday morning it had begun snowing in Avoriaz at around 2000m above sea level.
The freezing level continued to plummet throughout the afternoon and by evening was as low as 600m above see level. Not quite down to Geneva as predicted but low enough to give us well over a foot of fresh snow in Avoriaz and 6 – 8 inches of snow in Morzine village completely covering all of the winter pistes with a great base !!!

Winter has arrived. Local photographer Jacquie Culter was out to capture the moment and has kindly given us permission to share these fantastic views shown here that she captured earlier today.
If you’re interested in seeing lots of other pictures in and around Morzine, take a look at her website with plenty more Morzine photography
