Dumping Down

morzine snow report

As expected, yesterdays clear skies have given way to dark grey cloudy skies.  Although not great for todays’ visibility, the snow is dumping down on the mountain.

Morzine Snow Report – Avoriaz

The forecast for today predicts moderate and continuous precipitation with the rain-snow limit towards 900m in the morning, rising up towards 1500m in the afternoon.  Overall, the exptected snowfall towards 1800m is a staggering 30-50cm.

It is raining right now down in the village but is dumping down on the mountain.

Tonights Morzine weather forecast reports another 5 to 15cm of fresh snow expected down at 800m, well below Morzine village itself.

The forecast for tomorrow looks even better with another 40 – 50cm of fresh snow expected at 1500m with the isotherm staying at 800m above sea level.  Expect travel to and from the resort to be a little difficult !
