A Smattering of New Snow
A surprise greeted us Sunday morning as we awoke to a smattering of new snow covering the roads and the village of Morzine. The freezing level had been forecast for around 1400m with no precipation forecast, so it was quite unexpected to have new snow even down as far as Geneva airport.
Unfortunately it didn’t amount to more than a couple of centimetres on the slopes although it seemed to be snowing on and off throughout the daylight hours. Still, a little is better than none.
The outlook for the week ahead suggests mainly cloudly skies with some light snowfall expected from 1300m to 1500m upwards, mainly on Tueday and Wednesday. Let’s hope the forecast is a little off again and we get a good dump of fresh snow rather than another light snowfall …
